Prospective Family FAQ’s Summer 2011

 

Are applications still being accepted for the 2011-2012 school year?

We are currently accepting applications for grades 9-12 for the 2011-2012 school year. Limited spaces are available so applicants are encouraged to begin the process as soon as possible.

I submitted my application on line. How do I know if it was received?

You will receive a call regarding an interview date and time 3-5 days from receipt of your on-line application. This is your receipt that your application was received by the admissions Office.

If I submit an on-line application, how do I pay the 25.00 application fee?

You may pay a number of ways. You can mail your payment (money order, personal check, cashiers check or cash) to the admissions office. To pay by credit card, please contact the finance office on ext. 251. You may also bring the application fee on the day of the student interview.

What documents should accompany the application?

9th Grade Students

Students seeking  9th grade admission must bring the following:

  • 7th and 8th grade report cards
  • 7th or 8th grade standardized test scores
  • Essay on "What I hope to accomplish while attending ACHS"
  • 25.00 Application Fee

Transfer Students

10th grade- 8th and 9th grade report cards, Essay, Application Fee

11th grade- 9th and 10th report cards, Essay, Application Fee

12th grade- 9th-11th grade report cards, Essay, Application Fee (Please note that in addition to interviewing with admissions, senior transfer applicants must also meet with the Principal/CEO prior to receiving an admissions decision.)

Students who do not submit ALL application materials on or  before the day of the interview WILL not be permitted to complete the interview process!!

 

How do I apply for financial aid?

The deadline for financial aid through the Archdiocese of Washington  (PSASS) was December 3, 2010. If you missed that deadline, it is strongly recommended that you complete the form (www.catholicschoolswork.org) and submit the supporting documents to ACHS Finance office as soon as possible. In the event that internal aid becomes available, only those with the PSAS information on file may apply. You may contact the finance office for further information.

 

How much is tuition?

Tuition is 10,535.00 for the 2011-2012 school year. Please contact the finance office on 202-529-0900 ext. 251 for further information.
